About page title
Something has changed.

Your energy is not what it was. Your weight no longer reflects how you eat or move. A blood test may have flagged something, without fully explaining why, or what to do next.

Your doctor may have mentioned medication, and your instinct is that there should be another way.

There is another way.

What you are feeling (fatigue, brain fog, sluggishness after meals, weight gain) is not simply a sign of ageing. It is a sign of metabolic change, and metabolic change is measurable. Which means it can be addressed.
My name is Jon Bell. I am a metabolic health coach based in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. For 18 years, I have helped adults improve, and in many cases reverse, markers associated with prediabetes, reduce high cholesterol, and improve metabolic health through targeted lifestyle change.
This is not about trying harder. It is about making the right changes, based on what your blood work actually shows, applied in the right sequence, with the right evidence behind each decision.

"Something in you probably already knows that something needs to change. The blood work just confirms what you have already been feeling."

The Rugby Years

I was never the biggest player on the pitch.

Growing up, rugby was everything to me. Without size on my side, I had two choices: accept the disadvantage, or find another way. I chose the latter. I became the fittest player in every team I played for, not through natural talent, but through discipline, precision and a refusal to leave anything to chance.
That experience shaped everything that followed. Your starting point is not your ceiling. What you can measure, you can improve, and with the right information and approach, the gap between where you are and where you want to be is almost always smaller than it looks.

“I was never the biggest player on the pitch. I learned to outperform through fitness, data and a refusal to leave anything to chance.”

The Years in Finance

Alongside sport, I built a career as a Chartered Management Accountant. It taught me to read data without assumption: to look at a set of numbers, interpret and understand what they mean in context, and recognise where they are likely to lead if nothing changes.

When I moved into coaching, that way of thinking came with me.
In the early years, I worked with people who wanted to feel better in their bodies: stronger, fitter, more energised. To release weight, move better, and build confidence. That work mattered, and it still does.

Over time, the work evolved. I began working with clients whose needs went deeper: people who wanted to be healthy on the inside, with blood test results they did not fully understand, markers moving in the wrong direction, and limited clarity on what to do next.

“A blood panel is a set of data. Reading it properly is like analysing a financial report: you have to look at the facts as they are, without jumping to conclusions.”

The Decision

I made the decision to leave finance and qualify fully as a coach. I have never regretted it. Not because there was anything wrong with my previous career. There wasn’t. But this work is different.

I enjoy understanding each client’s challenges, goals and health markers then creating a plan that’s realistic, personalised and achievable. Seeing someone gain confidence, improve their health, and achieve results they can both feel and measure never gets old.

Eighteen years later, I still feel exactly that way.

People often say they had forgotten what it felt like to feel well.

What Changes When Your Health Changes

The blood results are the proof. But they are not the whole story.

Long before your follow-up blood test, you will notice changes in everyday life.

You sleep more deeply. Your energy becomes more consistent throughout the day. The afternoon slump that once felt normal becomes less familiar. You feel more focused, more capable and more in control of your health.

As weight begins to come down and fitness improves, everyday tasks feel easier. You feel stronger, more confident and more like yourselve again.

That is what we are working towards, and the blood work is how we know we are getting there.

The blood work helps us measure what’s changing beneath the surface. Improvements in markers such as HbA1c, cholesterol and triglycerides provide objective evidence that your efforts are moving you in the right direction.

Because this isn’t just about feeling better today. The habits that improve your health markers now are the same habits that support better health, physical function and independence in the years ahead.

“People often say, looking back, that they had forgotten what it felt like to feel well. Not extraordinary, just well. Present, energised, clear.”

The Central Premise

Blood markers can be improved. Not by trying harder at things that have not worked. By making targeted, evidence-based changes guided around what your blood work reveals. Improve your health markers today. Build a healthier future over time.

How I Work

Every programme I design starts with understanding what is really going on inside your body.
That includes how you feel day to day, your weight, and your lifestyle, but the focus is your blood markers. While some things can fluctuate or be subjective, your blood work provides an objective view of your internal health. HbA1c, cholesterol profile, triglycerides, fasting glucose. Each marker tells part of the story. Together, they give us clarity.
We begin with a comprehensive Health Optimisation Assessment. It builds a complete picture: not just your blood results, but who you are, how you live, and what your body has been through. Without that context, any programme is built on assumptions. This is how we make sure it is built on you.
The assessment covers six key areas of your health, using the same standards your GP would use. Your results are brought together into a clear, colour-coded report so you can quickly see what is in a good place and what needs attention. Many of the measurements we track are the same ones used in the NHS QRISK3 score, the tool used to estimate your risk of a heart attack or stroke, so we focus on the factors that genuinely drive long-term health risk.
From there, I design a programme built entirely around your results. Not a template adapted for you. A programme written from your blood work upwards, with a clear plan to improve what matters most.

Interpret

Every health marker is analysed in context, not isolation. The goal is to understand how your markers interact and identify what is driving the overall picture, not just what each number says on its own.

Target

Nutrition plans designed around your specific blood marker targets and dietary preferences. If LDL is elevated, we address it directly through proven strategies: fibre, plant sterols and omega-3 intake. Where excess abdominal fat is contributing, reducing it becomes a key priority, because improving body composition is one of the most powerful ways to improve your markers.

Prescribe

Training is programmed with intent: to improve metabolic health, strength and long-term function. Zone 2 cardio supports metabolic health and insulin sensitivity, while strength training preserves lean muscle and improves glucose control. Each session has a clear purpose, aligned to your data.

Track

Progress is measured through objective data: app data, wearables and, where appropriate, Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM). The programme evolves as your body does.

The result is measured, not assumed.

Success is defined by objective change, measured through before-and-after blood panels, ensuring the programme is working where it matters most: inside your body.
Example: total cholesterol reduced from high to optimal, HbA1c from prediabetic to healthy range, alongside meaningful, healthy weight release.

What Results Look Like

David came to me following a routine blood test with a total cholesterol of 6.8 mmol/L (high), and LDL at 4.8 mmol/L (high). His HbA1c was 5.9 per cent, placing him in the reduced glucose control range. His GP had begun discussing statins.
Twelve weeks later, he had lost 12 kg, his total cholesterol had reduced to 3.5 mmol/L (optimal), and his LDL to 1.9 mmol/L (optimal). His HbA1c improved to 5.4 per cent, back within the healthy range. His GP confirmed he was no longer prediabetic and was no longer recommending statins.
“My health scare gave me the motivation, but you gave me the tools.”
David, 47, Engineer
This is what evidence-based metabolic health coaching can achieve. Not with medication. Not with extremes. With a programme designed around the blood work, monitored continuously and adjusted precisely.
Research supports what clients experience. Lifestyle intervention reduces the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 58 per cent in people with prediabetes, and by 71 per cent in adults over 60, according to the Diabetes Prevention Programme (NEJM, 2002). Dietary modification reduces LDL cholesterol by 10 to 20 per cent within eight weeks in adults with elevated markers (British Heart Foundation, 2023). These are not marginal improvements. They are clinically meaningful changes.

Who This Is For

You do not need a diagnosis to work with me. But you’ll recognise that something needs to change.

This programme is for you if:

My clients are typically professionals in their 40s, 50s and 60s, men and women who are used to solving complex problems with good information and consistent effort, but who have found that their health doesn’t always respond as expected.

They want clarity, not guesswork. A personalised plan, not generic advice. A programme built on understanding their individual health markers, lifestyle and goals.

If that sounds like you, you’re exactly who this programme is designed for.

Qualifications and Experience

I have been coaching for 18 years, with qualifications in Personal Training, Nutrition, Strength and Conditioning, Advanced Kettlebell, Boxing Instruction and Sports Massage.
Over time, my work has moved beyond performance and into metabolic health, understanding what is happening inside the body and how lifestyle directly influences it. Working with real clients over many years, I have seen how changes in nutrition, training and daily habits can improve blood sugar control, cholesterol levels and overall health, and, just as importantly, what does not work.
Blood marker analysis is a natural extension of that work. It allows me to move beyond assumptions and base every programme on objective data, not guesswork.

Clinical Health Assessment

The Next Step

If anything here has resonated, if you recognise your own situation in what you have read, the first step is simple.

The free health assessment takes 15 minutes. It produces a colour-coded report across seven categories (cardiovascular health, metabolic markers, body composition, nutritional status, physical fitness, lifestyle and sleep), each one scored against clinical guidelines. It costs nothing, requires no GP referral, and gives you a clear, honest picture of where your markers sit right now.

Take the assessment. Read the report. If you want to talk about what it shows, book a free consultation call. That call is not a sales pitch. It is a conversation about what your data says and whether this approach is the right one for you.
There is no pressure. There is no commitment. Just a clear picture, and a conversation.
